Jagermeister Herbal Liqueur
Herbal liqueur from Germany made following a secret recipe with 56 herbs. It has a unique wonderful and complex flavour, with bittersweet notes. Its origins are in1878, in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony, when the wine and vinegar entrepreneur Wilhelm Mast decides to found his bussiness. The company grows, and in time Curt Mast, the founder's son, joins it. In 1934 he develops the recipe for this unique herbal liqueur. The name literally translated means "Hunting Master" in German.
How it is made
Jägermeister’s recipe is secret for the most part and includes citrus peel, licorice, anise, poppy seeds, saffron, ginger, juniper berries, and ginseng. Herbs and spices are left to macerate in water and alcohol and aged for 12 months in oak barrels.
Dark amber colour. Complex aromas of cherry, stewed fruit, liquorices and flowers. Bittersweet taste with strong notes of herbs. Pleasant finish. Best served chilled, to enjoy its flavour in all of its complexity. Ideal to mix in cocktails such as Jäger Mojito or Jägerbomb. 35% ABV.
