Biscardo Prosecco Millesimato Spumanti
Biscardo Prosecco Millesimato is a Extra Dry Italian Spumante with DOC Prosecco, made from Glera grapes, grown in the prestigious Italian wine región of Veneto. The annual yield is about 100 tons of grapes, grown and harvested with typical techniques for this area. Biscardo is a familiy winery founded in 1878 by Terence Biscardo. Nowadays it is run by Maurizio and Martino Biscardo with the aim of producing the highest quality wines.
How it is made
Grapes are harvested by hand, to prevent any acetic fermentation, and immediately carried to the vinification cellar during the first hours of the day. Then they are destemmed, gently pressed and left to ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Fermentation is partially interrupted through cold-process and the wine is transferred to small stainless steel tanks under nitrogen. 4 months after vinification, re-fermentation is carried out following the typical procedure used for spumante. Martino Biscardo has personally selected this cuvée.
