The Balvenie Aged 12 Years

The Balvenie Doublewood is an excellent 12 year old Single Malt Whisky born from organic chemistry and traditional, handcrafted processes. David Stewart, Master Distiller, carefully oversees the whole production process and the result is an exceptionally smooth whisky with complex flavours and notes of honey. This is one of the few whiskies matured in two wood types. Produced by The Balvenie, founded in 1892, in Speyside, Scotland.

Aged for 12 years in two wood types. Over the period of maturation it is transferred from a traditional oak whisky cask to a first fill European oak sherry cask. Each stage of the process lends different qualities to the resulting single malt: the traditional casks soften and add character, whilst the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour.

Gold-orange color with yellow highlights. Aromas of fruits, nuts and spices, as well as notes of sherry. Sweet and smooth on the palate, with hints of nuts, vanilla and cinnamon. Long and warm finish with a layer of sherry. 40% ABV.
