Italian herbal liqueur made by Fratelli Branca e Comp. using a secret recipe with herbs, roots and spices infused in alcohol and aged in Slovenian oak casks. Bernardino Branca and Dr. Fernet created the original Fernet-Branca recipe in 1845, in Milan.
How it is made
Digestiv Fernet Branca is made from 27 herbs, roots and spices from five continents. The herbs are crushed in mills, very carefully, so their characteristics are not altered and infused in alcohol. Once blended, they are aged in oak casks for 12 months, in an underground cellar at a controlled temperature.
Dark cherry colour. Intense aromas of peppermint and spicy liquorice. Complex on the palate with notes of fresh mint leaves, mint tea, camomile and citric. Long and spicy aftertaste. It is usually served as a digestif after a meal and may also be served mixed into cocktails, over ice or with soft drinks. 39% - 45% ABV.
