Alión

Alión is a complex and elegant red wine with Denominación de Origen Ribera del Duero, made from the finest selected Tinto Fino grapes. Aging takes place from 14 to 20 months in new French oak barrels. Bodegas Alión is a family winery founded by the Álvarez family in 1992 in Peñafiel, Valladolid, and owned by Grupo Vega Sicilia.

How it is made

Grapes are carefully selected and handpicked. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures. It is aged in new French oak barrels for 14 to 20 months, depending on the characteristics of the grapes. Finally, it is left to mature in the bottle for about 15 months.

Tasting notes

Bright deep red colour with streaks of violet. Full and complex on the nose with aromas of red and black fruits, as well as notes of liquorice, mint and oak. Fruity, opulent and elegant on the palate. Long and persistent finish. It can be served with grilled meat and stews.
