Vega Sicilia Valbuena 5

Valbuena is an elegant red wine with Denominación de Origen Ribera del Duero, made from Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes and also Merlot grapes in a greater or lesser extent depending on the vintage. The grapes are grown in plots located on gentle concave slopes with soils of a deep calcic horizon. Its production methods remain unchanged, and it is each year's weather factors that mark the differences between harvests. Vega Sicilia is a prestigious winery that was acquired in 1982 by the Álvarez family. Since then, it has enjoyed a steady growth thanks in part to the addition of new wines produced in different wine-making areas.

Grapes are left to ferment in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. Malaolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel as well. It is aged between wood and in the bottle for 5 years, using French and American wood, new and used 225-litre barrels and 20,000 litre vats.

Cherry colour iwth orange hues. Smoky aromas of ripe fruits, sweet spices and cocoa. Balanced on the palate with flavours of ripe fruit. Long and persistent finish.
