Pedro Ximenez 1927
PX 1927 is a sweet wine with Denominación de Origen Montilla Moriles, made with Pedro Ximénez grapes. This wine is the flagship of Bodega Alvear, which was founded by Juan Bautista García de Alvear y Garnica in 1729 in Montilla, Córdoba. From its origins Bodega Alvear has retained its family character by firmly sticking to its roots. Their products are present in more than 25 countries
How it is made
The Pedro Ximénez grapes are handpicked and laid out on mats to dry in the sun until they become raisins. Then they are aged for 5 years in American oak casks. The “Solera System” for this wine was started in 1927.
Dark mahogany colour. Rich aromas of prunes and chocolate. Sweet on the palate, with notes of caramel, coffee, cocoa and raisins. Perfect with dessert, ice-cream, fruit-salads, pastries or with blue cheese. Best served at a temperature of 12º - 14º. 16% ABV.
